Treasure hunting
Originating from Bethel Church in Redding, California, Treasure Hunting is a method of supernatural evangelism which takes prophetic and healing prayer out of the church and onto the streets.
Across the UK more and more stories are emerging of groups of people praying on the streets for total strangers, pinpointed through prayer by the Holy Spirit.
Description:
A group of people (three to five per team) asks God for words of knowledge about people’s names, clothing, appearance and prayer need(s). They also get words of knowledge about locations and other unusual things. They write these down on a paper called their Treasure Map then go to the locations on their Map to find treasures. The “treasures” are people who correspond in some way to the clues that the team has written down.
When they find someone, they show him or her their map and ask if they can pray for them. Many people have been saved, healed or greatly touched by God’s love through this kind of prophetic evangelism.
The white wooly hat testimony

We headed towards Boots, as we had chemist down on our list.
Standing outside was a couple, the guy had a grizzly dog on a leash and the lady he was with had a white wooly hat. Not looking the most approachable people in the world to talk to, we were thinking of praying from a distance. While we were walking around trying to get enough bottle to approach them, they moved to the bench near the URC Church. We took this as a big sign and just went over to them and said we were from the local churches and could we pray for them about anything in particular.
The guy said yes, he was struggling to get off heroine and they were days from eviction from their house. The Lady then said she had just lost a baby recently and they were really struggling. I explained we had prayed in the morning and God literally lead us to them, we showed them the list at which she started to cry and couldn't believe God knew them that intimately. We then had the opportunity to pray specifically for addictions to be broken and God gave me some words about them as a family, and her baby being in heaven.
As we left that God-appointment we were walking along and realised there was a guy with crutches in front of us who I recognised as i went to high school with him. We chatted to him for a bit and he explained he was in a real mess physically and the doctors said he was on the verge of some kind of stroke. As he turned around he explained he suffered from heart palpatations and we got to pray for him - just outside the Esso petrol station!
