Croydon College Chaplains

Croydon College has around 4000 full-time students aged 16-18, 1100 staff and a further 8-9000 students of varying ages in further education. As well as the main building in the town centre,
The college also has an annexe in Davidson Road, Addiscombe.

The Croydon College Chaplaincy Team comes under the “Enrichment” department which is headed by Di Layzelle, and includes other subjects such as sports, arts & media and lots more.

The Chaplaincy has been in place for several years, and Tim Goode (Anglican), Chris Roe (free church) joined Tom Caluori (Roman Catholic) in September 2010.

An Alpha course has been running since September 2010.

From January 2011, the chaplaincy will look quite different to how it has historically functioned, with a renewed and major emphasis on being a Salt & Light Presence to both students and staff. The team will also be present at various enrichment discussion forums.

Every Wednesday at 1pm in the “Quiet Room”, there will be an Ecumenical Worship Service lasting 30 minutes, to which all are invited.

There will be regular Lunchtime Gigs in the common room, drawing in talent from around Croydon, ie Brit School and Acoustically Speaking to name but two.

Croydon college has an intranet system called “Moodle” which is the main form of communication used by the chaplaincy team.

The Faith Awareness week runs from Monday 24th January 2011 for the whole of that week.
