Church in Croydon

Numbers increase as Churches come together

Click to watch videoWednesday October 24th: It was exciting to see even more people meeting together in fellowship, worship and prayer at our second Croydon Churches meeting.  Despite the fact that it was half-term, when we would have expected numbers to be down, the word had obviously got out and Christians from churches all over the Croydon area came together.

The meeting focused on the issues of law and order in the borough, with representatives from the police (Borough Commander, Mark Gore), the judiciary (Justice of the Peace, Mark Nicholson and soon-to-be District Crown Prosecutor, Martin Ryan) , Croydon Council (Deputy Leader Steve O'Oconnell), as well as Street Pastors, the Probation Service, Christian Police Assocation and others.

Much of the prayer focus was aimed at young people, but issues of domestic violence and people trafficking were also prayed for.

This website was demonstrated live on the big screen and many people registered

If you were there at the meeting, please let us know your thoughts.  What part had the most impact on you? What would you change? What worked best? Do tell us.

Last night's event was very interesting and thought-provoking. I was not aware of the seriousness of the subjects talked about. It saddened me very much but I was proud to know that there were many people with higher authority in Croydon who were CHRISTIANS. So many prayers were said and we know that it works. The borough of Croydon is improving so lets continue to pray and spread the word. Amen.
