This question has been bugging me for years.
This question may seem like a joke to some people, but I have asked it of many people, and so far no-one has been able to give me a satisfactory answer. It is a serious question, despite it's appearances.

The question is this: If God created man before woman, why then did he give him nipples? Why create a being with something he will never need?

This is a puzzle - because we know god never makes mistakes, why did man end up with a redundant feature. You got me!

Actaully, redundancy is in the eye of the beholder. I quite like my nipples. Maybe they are just a complementary feature. Or may be they will 'evolve' into something more useful. lol

Definately dodgy theology there, methinks

I am sure many things that we don't fully understand seem redundant.

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Gen 1:27

Then the lord God made a woman from the rib....Gen 2:22

The above and the science text book Y chromosome thing approximation of scripture indicate that men and women are based on the same basic model. There is wisdom in being reminded that men and women have a lot more in common than we think!

Just a thought. Nothing is redundant in God's view of creation. God did not put the nipples there just for decoration. Every design in God's creation has a purpose and/or a reason for it. Just as a navel shows a physical connection with our mother, similarly presence of nipples is God's design to show a connection between the male and female.
